When MIFARE Ultralight EV1 chips are in the factory state, the OTP (One Time Programmable) sector is set by default to 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00.
To be able to write records like URLs, Texts, … you must configure this sector correctly.

But as this sector cannot be reverted once it’s written, we made the choice to let the users decide and not to write the values automatically.
If you want to write NDEF records on your MIFARE Ultralight EV1 chips, please follow the instructions below.

Note: To identify what chip you're using, please use the read section of NFC Tools.

On NFC Tools for Android or iOS

  1. Open NFC Tools, go to the "other" section, then advanced NFC commands.
  2. Keep the default options and use the following command to configure your chip:
    • For MIFARE Ultralight EV1 - 48b: A2:03:E1:10:06:00,A2:04:03:04:D8:00,A2:05:00:00:FE:00
    • For MIFARE Ultralight EV1 - 128b: A2:03:E1:10:10:00,A2:04:03:04:D8:00,A2:05:00:00:FE:00

On NFC Tools for PC/MAC

  1. Open NFC Tools, then go to the "memory" tab
  2. Edit the memory values as indicated below:
    • For MIFARE Ultralight EV1 - 48b:
      • Addr. 03: E1:10:06:00
      • Addr. 04: 03:04:D8:00
      • Addr. 05: 00:00:FE:00
    • For MIFARE Ultralight EV1 - 128b:
      • Addr. 03: E1:10:10:00
      • Addr. 04: 03:04:D8:00
      • Addr. 05: 00:00:FE:00
